At Colgay Pride, our mission is to empower the LGBTQ+ community through advocacy, education, and support. We strive to create a safe and inclusive environment for all individuals, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. A LGBT organizations

We believe in the power of community and actively engage with local organizations and allies. Colgay Pride hosts various events, workshops, and support groups to foster connections and build a stronger, united front.

**Colgay Pride: Advocacy for LGBTQ+ Citizens of Columbus**
Colgay Pride is dedicated to advocating for the rights and well-being of the LGBTQ+ community in Columbus. Our mission is to speak out and take action against unjust laws and policies that threaten our community. We believe in the power of collective action and the importance of standing up for what is right.
**Current Challenges:**
- **Trump's Anti-LGBTQ+ Policies:** The recent executive orders and policies from the Trump administration have targeted the rights of transgender individuals and rolled back protections for the LGBTQ+ community. These policies include banning trans-inclusive school policies, cutting federal funding for supportive schools, and promoting discriminatory practices.
- **Impact on Our Community:** These policies have created a hostile environment for LGBTQ+ individuals, making it imperative for us to stand up, speak out, and act up if necessary. Silence is not an option when our rights and dignity are under attack.
**Our Advocacy Efforts:**
- **Speaking Out:** We actively raise awareness about the injustices faced by the LGBTQ+ community through public statements, social media campaigns, and community events.
- **Taking Action:** We organize protests, rallies, and advocacy campaigns to challenge discriminatory laws and policies. Our goal is to create a more inclusive and equitable society for all.
- **Empowering Advocates:** We provide training and resources to individuals who want to become advocates for LGBTQ+ rights. By empowering others, we amplify our collective voice and strengthen our movement.
**Why It Matters:**
- **Protecting Rights:** Advocacy is crucial to protect the rights and freedoms of LGBTQ+ individuals. Without it, discriminatory policies can go unchallenged and harm our community.
- **Building Solidarity:** By standing together, we show that we are a united and resilient community. Our solidarity sends a powerful message that we will not be silenced or marginalized.
- **Creating Change:** Advocacy leads to tangible change. Through our efforts, we can influence public opinion, shape policies, and create a more just and inclusive society.
Join us in our fight for equality and justice. Together, we can make a difference and ensure that the voices of the LGBTQ+ community are heard and respected.

“The world’s already a nasty place. You don’t have to go through it alone.”
Join us. Get hope. Give hope.

💬 About the Support Group
For nearly two decades, this group has been a lifeline for the LGBTQ+ community in Columbus, Georgia.
It began as Living With Hope, a support network for people living with HIV and AIDS, and has grown into one of the longest‑running support groups in the city’s history — now serving a broader community of LGBTQ+ individuals and allies.
When COVID‑19 changed the world, we pioneered TeleSupport — a virtual model inspired by TeleHealth — to ensure that connection and compassion never stopped.
You don’t have to show your face or even share your name. You can simply listen, learn, and heal in a safe, affirming space.
