DRAG QUEEN STORY TIME IS NOW DIVERSITY STORYTIME

DIVERSITY STORY (AKA Drag Queen Story Time) is Back! And best of all we are going back to where it all began….The Library and Yep, the very same one we started at The Mildred Terry Library. We have made some changes we know you will all love and appreciate! And what better way to kick off National Reading Day (March 2nd) by Kicking off our event at the place where Reading begins..Our very own Chattahoochee Valley Library System.

EVERY MONTH COME OUT AND TAKE PART IN OUR NEW AND IMPROVED DIVERSITY STORY TIME EVENTS.

Diversity Story Time, formerly known as drag queen storytime is back. And this time we’ve got 2 brand new storytellers who are going to truly Captivate, Educate and Entertain your kids no matter how old they are. Diversity Story Time from ColGay Pride of Columbus Georgia will debut Saturday, March 25th at the Mildred Terry Library inside the Alpha Kappa Room from 3 to 4p. Story time we feel has a greater chance of success when we do it at the Library so we can truly promote reading to kids everywhere. Our books teach kids about Tolerance, Acceptance, Love and Diversity and promote Anti-Bullying and teaching kids to love one another, accept everyone no matter their difference, to speak up and take up for one another and always stand up to and reports bullies.
Our two books this month will be “Kindness Makes Me Stronger” and “Jamie is Jamie” two great books about teaching Kindness and Identity. Spirit and Lady Gia La Diamond will be performing for all the kids, doing sing-alongs, playing games and refreshments along with participation prizes will be given to every child in attendance. This is event is proudly sponsored by Pratt & Whitney Diversity Team and ColGay Pride of Columbus Georgia.
Now in 2023, At the end of each program…the books that we read will be donated to the library we host our event at so every child can check them out and read them at home.
We have worked hard on revamping this program into a great learning event that will surely make every one young and old leave a little bit happier than they came and hopefully a bit more kinder and accepting of one another!
So we will see everyone March 25th at 3p at the Mildred Terry Library located at 640 Veterans Prkwy Columbus Georgia inside the Alpha Kappa Room. Remember to Bring a friend! Keep on Smiling! and most importantly – Always Be You!
