Calling all our artistic LGBTQ+ and Allies alike. It’s time again for the BIG T SHIRT DESIGN CONTEST that so many enjoy each and every year. Each year’s Theme for Pride is given in advance to the community so that anyone who likes to draw or use their artistic expression to capture the words of our theme through design can do so and even have a chance to be selected as the Next T SHIRT DESIGN for the 2024 11TH ANNUAL Columbus Georgia LGBTQ+ Pride Festival which takes place on June 1st.

That’s right as of right now the contest has begun. You have until May 7th at Midnight to have your drawing submitted in jpeg or Png format and mailed to jeremy@colgaypride.org Subject Line: 2024 T Shirt Design entry.

REMEMBER THE ONE MAIN RULE OF THIS CONTEST…THE WORDS OF THE THEME MUST APPEAR IN YOUR ARTWORK IN SOME WAY along with whatever your beautiful minds can come up with to accompany them. YOUR VISION…YOUR PRIDE! So everyone out there, please put your Artist Caps on and doodle around…I am sure everyone can come up with something.

2024 11th Annual Columbus Georgia LGBTQ+ Pride Festival Theme

Calling all artists and graphic designers and visionaries. It’s your Pride so You create the Official Design for this year’s theme for Pride 2024.

Context:

United for Equality: The Theme of the 2024 Columbus Georgia LGBTQ+ Pride Festival

The theme “United for Equality” for the 2024 Columbus Georgia LGBTQ+ Pride Festival signifies the importance of coming together to fight for justice and inclusivity, advocating for equal rights and opportunities for marginalized groups, such as LGBTQ people.

Advocating for Equality and Inclusivity

The theme emphasizes the need for unity and collective action to address systemic inequalities and promote a fair and equitable society.
It aligns with broader social justice movements that aim to create a more equitable society for all.

Addressing Discrimination and Injustice

The theme reflects the festival’s commitment to ending discriminatory targeting and opposing discriminatory legislation that seeks to silence LGBTQ voices and related discussions.
It emphasizes the festival’s goal of working towards achieving lived and legal equality for LGBTQ individuals, while raising awareness through rallies and events.

In summary, “United for Equality” serves as a powerful statement of solidarity and activism, highlighting the ongoing efforts to advocate for equality, justice, and inclusivity for the LGBTQ community.

RULES:

Your picture must contain the words “UNITED FOR EQUALITY” or “UNITE FOR EQUALITY” Other than that, the canvas is yours. Be colorful, be artistic, be bold, but make it stand out LOUD.

This contests officially begins January 9th, 2024, which is plenty of time for you to think about the design and put it down onto paper, canvas, or digitally. REMEMBER YOU MAY NOT USE ANY EXISTING ART THAT IS ASSOCIATED with this year’s theme “UNITED FOR EQUALITY” It must be unique and stand out as original. You must include no less than 150 words on why you chose your design for this year’s theme. The deadline for the contest is SUNDAY May 7th at 11:59pm. 05/08 none will be accepted.

You must submit your work via email with a jpeg or png file.

SUBMITTALS:

Send your design along with your name, your age, telephone mobile number along with 150 words or more telling us why you decided upon that design. Be sure to include any history that led your passion in its creation. Send to jeremy@colgaypride.org SUBJ: 2024 PRIDE THEME DESIGN. Remember to only send the file via jpeg or png file.

SELECTION:

After you all have done your job in the creation of the theme design, we will take all designs that are eligible to a SPECIAL BOARD OF DIRECTORS SESSION where not only the BOD will vote, but also everyone in attendance via ZOOM. The votes will be cast online and after verification the winner will be announced.

WINNER:

The winner of the design contest will have their work displayed on the Official 11th Annual Columbus Georgia Pride Festival T shirt that will be available on June 1st the day of Pride 2024. The winner will receive a beautiful Rainbow Crystal Award, a Proclamation honoring them for their contribution to the event, their picture with the Mayor of Columbus Georgia, a chance to speak at the event, and a variety of gift certificates to local We Serve All Establishments here in Columbus Georgia.

There you have it. We cannot wait to see the talent that is sent our way and we do hope that everyone whether they are LGBTQ+ or an Ally submit an entry. ANYONE CAN WIN. Because we are UNITED FOR EQUALITY and together we will stamp out hate forever.
